Strawberry Basil Spiked Lemonade
- 1 oz Strawberry Flavored Gin (Rob uses Puerto de Indias)
- 1 oz Vodka of choice
- .5 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 oz quality lemonade
- .75 oz pre-made strawberry/basil simple syrup (separate recipe below)
Mix and garnish with fresh basil and strawberries/makes 2-3 quarts
Strawberry/Basil Simple Syrup Recipe
- Bring 2 quarts of water to a boil in sauce pan
- Add 1 quart of fresh strawberries add 1/2 pound destemmed basil leaves
- Reduce heat and let simmer for 20 minutes

- Stir occasionally with a wooden spoon, making sure to break up the strawberries to release its juices and bruise the basil to release its oils.
- Strain then add equal amount water and granulated sugar
- Stir until dissolved then refrigerate (yield should be 2 quarts and will stay fresh in fridge for 2 weeks)
