From Singing to ‘Sing Sing': How Karaoke Skipped Off the Track

Apparently some people take their karaoke way too seriously.  Especially when they don’t get their chance at the microphone.

Jefferson Gomez, 31, got angry early Sunday morning after he thought the DJ at Terra Brasilis restaurant in Danbury skipped his karaoke song, police said.  He was thrown out of the bar.  That's when his friend, Marcos Dasilva, 25, smashed a bottle over the DJ's head, police said.  A third man, Jose Burges, continued to fight outside, said officers.

All three were arrested. There is no word on the condition of the DJ.

Other Karaoke Brawls
Nov. 12, Wisconsin - Kyle Drinkwine of Wisconsin got pretty riled up by a sub-par karaoke rendition of the heavy metal song “Holy Diver," and assaulted the singer and a second man, according to the Smoking Gun. Read the police report here.

August 2001, Seattle - A woman punched a Washington state man because she thought his cover of "Yellow," a Coldplay song, "really sucked," the Smoking Gun reports.
