She was stuck in traffic and the baby was coming. There was no time to get to the hospital, so a Norwalk mother gave birth Sunday at the closest place - the sidewalk of Dixwell Lane.
Until firefighters arrived, a 911 dispatcher coached the father over the phone.
Dispatcher Nancy Martin told the Connecticut Post that she grabbed the medical book, put a trooper on the phone and read the instructions out loud.
Mom and baby are said to be doing just fine.
