The Gems
To The Nines: Cafe Nine in New Haven bills itself as "The Musician's Living Room", featuring live music every night. There's free parking - make sure to ask for a voucher - and they just expanded their menu. Give it a shot and tell us what you think. They've also got free wireless. Why? So you can email us your pictures right from there.
Tradition Comes Alive- Afghanistan cooking as it should be. Shish Kebab House of Afghanistan in West Hartford has been serving up traditional food for more than 20 years. Now you can catch live music by Oud and Doumbek on Friday nights.
FREE SHOW- If you've been to BAR in the theater district of New Haven, you know the energy. And this weekend they'll be kicking it up a notch with a free performance by White/Light. You saw the word free, right? Good. Snap some pictures and email them to us and we'll pay for your ticket to the next free show at BAR.
