6/24: No Doubt, Paramore and More

Girl Power!! No Doubt and Paramore take over Mohegan Sun tonight.

Girl Power takes over in Connecticut tonight as ska-pop-punkers No Doubt take the stage at Mohegan Sun along with Paramore.

Gwen Stefani and the boys are back together and touring as they get set to drop their latest effort in 2010 -- apparently, the album was supposed to drop this year, but that darn Gavin Rossdale had to go and get his wife in the family way.

Anywho, No Doubt will be bringing plenty of energy, as they play your favorites like "Spiderwebs", "Just a Girl", and "Hey Baby".  Openers Paramore offer a similarly stand-out front-woman in Hayley Williams, who can hold her own and then some!  The show starts at 7:30.  Tickets range from $77.50-$97.50.

This next one's for the teachers out there.  Now that the school year's winding down, why not start drinking?

It's Educator's Appreciation Night at the Rock Cats game at New Britain Stadium.  From 5:05 until game time at 6:35 you can enjoy a stadium-wide happy hour, with $1 off Coors Light.

Once you've had your fill, you can enjoy some of the future stars of the Majors as the Rock Cats take on the Harrisburg Senators.

And here's one for fans of Rent:  Jonathan Larson, who wrote the lyrics for the Tony-award winning show, is back with a new venture, and it's showing at the Westport Country Playhouse.

"tick, tick...Boom!" is a modern musical that captures the struggles of a "starving artist," and his determination to live out his dream.  (Something tells me this an art imitating life kind of show.)

One disclaimer, folks, this one's got mature content and language.  Tickets are $30-$65.  Click here for ticket info.
