Cops Bust Suspected Manchester Meth Lab

Residents of Seaman Circle were evacuated from their homes Wednesday night after police discovered what appeared to be a meth lab in a backyard shed.

Manchester Fire Chief David Billings said the fire department was placed on standby as a precaution. Police are investigating and homes were evacuated because many houses are duplexes and are close together.

"What happens if it blew up or something would have happened? My family members live right next door. It's just ridiculous," said Manchester resident Sirenade Navaez.

Police said residents tipped them off to suspicious activity in the neighborhood and authorities arrived to find chemicals used to manufacture meth.

State police and the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection were also called in to remove the chemicals and investigate the discovery.

Neighbors said it's not the first incident at this house.

"This is a pretty close neighborhood," explained Robin Nightingale. "Everyone is on top of each other."

Police said no one is in custody. Authorities are investigating.
