Drunken Man Urinates on Police Car at Police Station: Cops

Police said he was carrying a loaded gun while he was drunk.

New London police did not have to go far to arrest a man accused of urinating on a police vehicle.

Police said Mark Bass, 29, of Starr Street in New London, was drunk and carrying a loaded gun when they found him urinating on a police car that was in the parking lot of police headquarters just before 10:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

A female officer who was arriving for work spotted Bass, with his genitals exposed, and went inside to notify the shift commander and to get assistance, police said.

When officers went outside to check, they found Bass lying on the ground, partially under the police car, and realized he was heavily intoxicated.

Bass was conscious, but did not comply with the officers orders, so they patted him down for weapons and discovered a loaded, .40 caliber Glock semi-automatic handgun, police said.   Police said Bass had a valid pistol permit.

Police arrested Bass and two officers had to walk him into the booking area.

Officers noticed a small abrasion on Bass’ forehead that he could not explain.

He was charged with carrying of loaded firearm while under the influence of alcohol and second-degree breach of peace. He was released on a $2,500 bond.
