A Glastonbury daycare director accused of not reporting several instances of child abuse at her facility has been denied entry to the accelerated rehabilitation program, which could have led to dismissal of the charges.
Meegan Beach, 40, of Hebron, was charged with failing to report child abuse after her employees at the Stork Club daycare brought it to her attention that another employee, Nicole Mayo, was allegedly abusing children.
Mayo is accused of eating food the children’s parents sent for the youngsters, including pasta, vegetables, chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese and granola bars. One employee reported seeing Mayo do that 10 to 15 times, according to the arrest warrant application.
She’s also accused of force feeding children until they vomited, slamming a child to the floor, smacking a child in the back of the head, yelling and calling the children names, including disgusting and stupid.
A mother reported to police that Mayo kissed her son on the lips and said, “Tell me you love me.”
Several employees told police they reported the incidents to Beach and that she had been retaliating since the Department of Children and Families started investigating.
“Because (of) all of you reporting this, my job is on the line. I’ve done nothing but cry myself to sleep each night,” Beach said to an employee, according to court records.

Beach did not comment outside of court on Monday, but her attorney's brought nearly five recommendation letters to court that praised her service in her 21-year career.
The judge says the seriousness of this case affected his decision not to grant her ARD.
Beach is due in court in September.
Mayo has pleaded not guilty to three counts of risk of injury to a minor and disorderly conduct
