Teacher arrested in December for sexual assault busted again

Adam Friedman, 44, apparently did not learn his lesson the first time.

He was arrested just before Christmas on charges he was carrying on a relationship with a female student a third his age at the Willimantic arts magnet school where he teaches.

Over the weekend, he was arrested again for having contact with the same girl, said state police.  That would violate the terms of his release.

On Saturday, state troopers and a state's attorney's office inspector were conducting surveillance on the girl's home, said police.

They noticed Friedman driving around the girl's Hebron neighborhood in his mother's minivan.

After he initially came up with the 'I just happened to be in the neighborhood' excuse, police say they turned to the girl who admitted having contact with Friedman.

A judge set his bail at $500,000 on risk of injury to a minor and violating conditions of release.  And the judge upped the rest of his bail package, too.
