Man Charged in Hamden Home Break-In

Hamden police have arrested a man who they said broke into a home and hid in the closet of the master bedroom.

Police responded to a home on Malcolm Street in Hamden around 11:30 a.m. on Monday after receiving a report of a burglary in progress.

Moments after police arrived, they noticed damage to a rear window and determined that someone had broken in, police said.

Officer Michael Nawrocki and K-9 “Hank,” as well as several other officers, searched the home and found Cory Bernardo, 25, of Hamden, hiding in the master bedroom closet, police said.
