State police have identified the woman found dead on Interstate 95 South in Westport late Thursday night.
Michelle Cassano, 43, was found in an area between the entrance ramp for Exit 18 onto I-95, suffering from what police called significant visible trauma. No vehicles related to the incident were found nearby, police said.
Troopers located several personal items they belive belong to Cassano.
An autopsy was performed, but the medical examiner is waiting for more tests before determining how Cassano died.
Troopers ask anyone who saw anything in the area of the Exit 18 on ramp, a stopped vehicle, any pedestrians, or anything that appeared suspicious to call State Police at 203 696-2500. All calls will be kept confidential.
