Police Make Arrests in Grocery Store Shooting

A husband and wife were shot in their store.

Hartford Police Department's Major Crimes Division has made one arrest in the shootings of a husband and wife who own a Hartford grocery store and obtained warrants for two people in jail on unrelated charges. 

Nicholas Ulerio and his wife, Brunilda Villa, were wounded during an armed robbery inside Ulerio Grocery near the corner of Homestead Avenue and Sigourney Street around 7:40 p.m. on Dec. 22. The suspects took off with the money from the register and police had been investigating ever since.

Police arrested Theo Teddy Sullivan, 20, of Bloomfield, on Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m. at police headquarters.

He was charged with first degree robbery and first degree conspiracy to commit robbery and remains in custody on a $750,000 bond pending arraignment in Hartford Superior Court.

On Jan. 11, Hartford police obtained arrest warrants for Ravon Donald, 19, and Tierais Harris, 30, both of Hartford. They are both in prison on unrelated charges, police said.

Donald is charged with two counts of criminal attempt to commit murder, two counts of first degree assault, first degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first degree robbery, criminal use of a firearm, and carrying a pistol without a permit.

Harris is charged with two counts of criminal attempt to commit murder, two counts of first degree assault, first degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first degree robbery, criminal use of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, and criminal possession of a firearm. Both have $1 million bonds pending arraignment in Hartford Superior Court.

"Three dangerous suspects will now be held accountable for their violent actions, and the victims, their families, and our community as a whole are safer today with the knowledge that they are incarcerated and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law," Mayor Pedro E. Segarra said.
