Pursuit of Car Thieves Prompts ‘Secure' Status at Hartford School

At least two people suspected of breaking into cars in the South End of Hartford are in police custody after a chase that ended in West Hartford and led to a “secure the school” status at one West Hartford school.

The Webster Hill School in West Hartford was placed on “secure the school” status because of the pursuit, according to the superintendent, who said the incident was unrelated to the school.

That "secure the school" order has since been lifted.

Children were not to be allowed outside for recess until the “secure the school” status is lifted.

Hartford police said juveniles were in the car they stopped in West Hartford near the Hartford line.

No additional information was immediately available.
