A funeral service was held on Friday for the Redding firefighter who died in the line of duty last weekend.
Lt. George Marshall Sanford collapsed on Sunday while responding to a brush fire.
Sanford was 67 and had spent 50 years with the volunteer fire department.
He was also a history teacher at Norwalk High for 35 years.
He'll was laid to rest in a graveside service this morning at 11 a.m. at the Redding Ridge Cemetery.
