Sex Assault Suspect in Custody

Police call Okkeme Gray dangerous.

The man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman in front of her children in South Windsor is in custody and will appear in Superior Court in Manchester on Wednesday morning.

Danbury and state police police found Okkeme Gray in a Danbury hotel on Tuesday and took him into custody. 

Gray is accused of first-degree sexual assault, strangulation and risk of injury to the minor, who was not sexually assaulted but was present at the time of the assault, police said.

The assault happened at a South Windsor home around 1 a.m. but was not reported to authorities until 10 a,m., on Tuesday, police said.

Police said they considered Gray dangerous because of the nature of the incident. The found his white, 4-door, 2011 Chevrolet Malibu with Connecticut license plate 266-YTU outside the hotel.

Gray was charged with sexual assault, strangulation, risk of injury to a minor and violating a protective order.
