More Than 150 Crashes Reported

A good inch of snow in some areas is making for slippery conditions.

Snow showers mixed with rain and sleet have created slippery conditions across the state.  

This led to more than 200 school delays and cancellations all over the state, as well as traffic problems and state police have responded to more than 150 crashes.

In New Haven, it took six hours for crews to clear an overturned tractor-trailer at the interchange of Interstates 95 and 91.

Part of Durham Road in Guilford was shut down after a car struck a utility pole, which fell across the street and destroyed a transformer. 

A tractor-trailer jackknifed on Interstate-84 Westbound between Exits 10 and 9 in Newtown just before 4:30 a.m. and the right and center lanes were closed.

In Southington, the left lane of on I-84 eastbound was closed between Exits 32 and 33 because of a crash.

In Meriden, a tractor-trailer went down the embankment on Interstate-91 Southbound between exits 20 and 19 around at 5:30 am. and the left lane was closed but has reopened.

In Middletown, there was a multivehicle crash on I-91 Northbound between Exits 20 and 21 around 5:30 a.m., which closed the right and center lanes.

In Vountown, a one-car crash closed Route 165 at Forge Hill Road.

In Fairfield, I-95 Southbound was congested between exits 27A and 22.
