State Trooper Involved in Crash on I-91

A Connecticut state trooper sustained minor injuries during a crash on Interstate 91 North in Windsor Locks on Wednesday afternoon.

State police said Trooper Aaron Pelletier, 27, of Troop H in Hartford, suffered minor injuries and was treated at Hartford Hospital.

Three vehicles were involved in a crash on Interstate 91 North in Windsor Locks at 1:39 p.m., near exits 41 and 42 in Windsor Locks.

Police said the driver of a tractor-trailer moved from the right center lane to the left center lane, causing the driver of a Harley Davidson motorcycle swerve to avoid being struck, which caused Trooper Pelletier to swerve to avoid a collision, but he hit the concrete center divider and was hit by the truck, police said. 

There was heavy damage to the state police cruiser and he the trooper was transported to Hartford Hospital, where he was treated and released for minor injury.
