Thanksgiving Acid Threat

A Port Chester, N.Y. family got quite a Thanksgiving scare after a Greenwich man knocked on their door and threatened to throw acid on a young girl if he wasn't given a glass of water, the Greenwich Time reports.

Jeffrey Borsk, 63, of Greenwich, went to the North Regent Street home on Thanksgiving holding a clear, plastic container and threatened the girl who answered the door, the Time reports.

The girl screamed for her father, who came to the door and the man made the same threat, police said. The father gave Borsk the glass of water and he left, police told the Greenwich Time.

The family called police, who found Borsk on a nearby street. He was charged with first-degree burglary and held at the Westchester County jail over the weekend.

It is still unclear whether the substance that Borsk had with him was really hydrochloric acid.  It is currently being tested at a lab.

"We are basing this (case) on it being hydrochloric acid, but if it is not it is still a threat to a person," Lt. James Ladeairous told the Time.
