A Western Connecticut State University student was struck by a car Tuesday evening.

Police said the 27-year-old student from Woodbury was crossing on White Street at the crosswalk in front of Litchfield Hall when he was struck by a car traveling eastbound around 5:20 p.m.

The victim was transported to the hospital and his injuries were described as non-life threatening. He has since been released from the hospital.
