An Enfield sixth grader has died after being hit by a motorcycle while riding his bike on Broad Brook Road, according to police.
Police said both the child and motorcycle driver, identified as 28-year-old Brian A. Dolloff, were traveling southbound on Broad Brook when they collided around 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Police have identified the boy as 11-year-old Nico Filippa.
George Hargraves was home when the boy was hit and went out to his front yard, where he found a mangled bicycle and a boy curled up on the side of broad brook road.
“At that point, his little body looked lifeless. It just tore the heart right out of you,” Hargraves said.
The child was taken to Bay State Medical Center and transferred via LifeStar to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.
Police have not released the child's name, but he attended John F. Kennedy Middle School and had just started sixth grade.

Principal Sarah Collins said grief counselors have been at the school.
“If that means talking things out, if that means taking a time out, taking a kid home -- we do whatever the kids need to do in that moment,” Collins said.
Dolloff was transported to Hartford Hospital. He was treated and has been released.
Authorities are investigating to determine the cause of the crash.
