Warrants Issued for Burglary of Dead Woman's Home

Police have obtained four arrest warrants for people wanted in connection with the burglary of a Hartford home where a woman was found dead in July.

Debbie Jurasus, 48, was found in her Goodrich Street home in July after a landscaper who voluntarily cut the grass called 911. Officials said she apparently died of natural causes in May.

Neighbors said they knew something was wrong because of the smell coming from the home after people broke into the residence and stole Jurasus’ car.

Police said the warrants are for a juvenile, a man in his 50s and two other people. One of the warrants has been served, police said. The suspects’ names have not been released.

In May, a postal carrier had told police that mail was piling up at the house. Police went to the house to investigate, but a dispatcher called them off in error.

Then, the landscaper's call in July sent police back to the house and they found Jurasus.

More information will be posted once it becomes available.
