Hartford Athletic Host Youth Goalie Clinic, Raise Money for Team Impact

The Athletic hosted a goalie clinic on Tuesday, welcoming goalies from all across the state to train with the professionals. Hartford’s goalies and coaches led drills and offered tips to attendees.

“It was really good, especially because different coaches, all of them have different techniques and learning different things from each of them was really good.” said Southington goalie Emily Eigo.

“I learned a lot about technique and perfecting the technique,” added St. Paul Catholic goalie Nina Zwolinski. “It was a great group to train with, great coaches.”

The players also enjoyed the opportunity to give back and pass along some of the knowledge they have picked up over the years.

“It was nice to be around and teach some of the things we were taught back in the day,” said Athletic goalie Frederick Due. “Also we want them to come and watch us at Dillon Stadium so of course we need to give something back.

“Together with our founding partner Cigna, we have this really awesome program called Every Save Matters,” said Athletic VP of Revenue and Strategic Initiatives Jordan Charlupski. “For every save that our keepers make the entire year, Cigna is donating $75 to Team Impact.”

Team Impact connects children facing serious or chronic illness with local athletic teams.
