Hillary Rodham Clinton is in Madison promoting her new book, "Hard Choices."

Lines were out the door at RJ Julia Independent Booksellers on Boston Post Road close to 3 p.m. as people waited to meet Clinton at a book signing.

Clinton's memoir addresses her inside perspective during her four years of serving as the United States of America's 67th secretary of state, according to amazon.com.

Protesters stood across the street holding signs objecting to her visit.

People had to have a ticket to attend and show identification at registration. Items like "backpacks, purses, bags, hats, jackets, umbrellas, strollers, books" and "items larger than a cell phone" were forbidden beyond the registration checkpoint, according to RJ Julia's website.

Posed photography and "selfies" with the former First Lady were forbidden and books signed would not be personalized, but event goers were permitted to take cell phone photos of Clinton from the line, according to the bookstore's website.
