One person has been taken to the hospital after a motorcycle crash on Interstate 84 in West Hartford Thursday morning, according to state police. Part of the highway remains closed as police investigate.
The crash happened around 11:18 a.m. on I-84 East, near exit 40, and the injuries are possibly serious.
I-84 East is closed at exit 39A for the investigation and all traffic is being diverted to Route 9 South.
The exit 39 on-ramp to I-84 East, from UConn Medical Center, and the Route 9 North ramp to I-84 East are also closed.

State police are asking anyone who planned to travel in the area to use alternate routes and plan for traffic delays.
The state police accident reconstruction team is investigating.
