Road Projects to Cause More Delays Next Weekend

Interstate 95 in Stamford reopened shortly Sunday night after it was shut down over the weekend during road projects.

Crews began replacing the Route 1 bridge over the highway Friday night.

Exit 9 and Route 1 will remain closed until 5 a.m. Monday morning.

I-95 will shut down again next weekend so the Department of Transportation can finish up replacing the bridge.

The work on I-95 is expected to be complete by the end of next weekend, with lanes reopening during weekdays.

The bridge rehab process will be broken into two, 10-day closures. The first began Friday at 6 p.m. The second phase will be in mid-July.
