Governor-elect Dan Malloy has chosen State Sen. Don DeFronzo to lead the Department of Administrative Services.
DeFronzo, who is a former New Britain mayor, said he will complete his term, but will resign his member-elect status.
DeFronzo is one of several lawmakers chosen for the Malloy Administration.
Malloy picked Stamford Sen. Andrew McDonald to be his general counsel and East Haven Rep. Michael Lawlor to become the undersecretary for criminal justice policy and planning at the Office of Policy and Management.
Mark Ojakian the deputy comptroller, was named deputy OPM secretary. Gian-Carl Casa, the public policy director for the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities, and Ann Foley, a veteran OPM employee, were also appointed to positions at the agency.
Former Bridgeport director of finance and business, Ben Barnes, was named director of the Office of Policy and Management.
Justice Joette Katz plans to leave the state Supreme Court to lead the Department of Children and Families.
Former state police major Reuben Bradford was picked to lead the Department of Public Safety and Dr. Jewel Mullen was chosen to run the Department of Public Health.

Malloy also named a top aide to his campaign, Roy Occhiogrosso, as his senior advisor to oversee communications.
