A Branford man has died after a multi-car crash on I-95 in New Haven Thursday.
Police said Robert Procaccini, 76, was getting on I-95 northbound from the exit 44 entrance ramp when he lost control of his vehicle and hit a Honda Civic in front of him. Procaccini's car then swerved into traffic and collided with another car before hitting the concrete median. The Civic was also pushed into traffic and was hit by a fourth vehicle.
Procaccino was pronounced dead on scene. The driver of the Civic was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. No one else was hurt.
The crash is still under investigation and police are looking to speak to witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to call Trooper Falstoe of Connecticut State Police Troop G at 203-696-2500.
