Plainville School Employee Pleads Not Guilty to Sex Assault

A computer technician with the Plainville public schools pleaded not guilty Tuesday to accusations that he sexually assaulted school-aged children.

Jonathan Zahra, 25, of Plainville, is on administrative leave as the case is investigated.

Supt. Kathleen Binkowski sent an e-mail to all parents in the school district on May 1 that explained the situation. In it, she said none of the incidents happened on school property.

Binkowski said she first heard about the allegations of misappropriate behavior four weeks earlier and immediately placed Zahra on administrative leave.

His arrest was the result of a two-month investigation. Law officials said the incidents happened between July 1 and Sept. 30, 2008. They have not said how many children are involved.
