Hartford police arrested three people in connection with a jewelry store robbery in Hartford on Thursday.
Masked and gloved men entered Bo’s Jewelry Store, at 257 Sisson Ave., just before 11:30 a.m. and one of them showed a firearm, police said. They stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry and then ran.
Police identified the suspects as Marcelino Santana, 27, of Manchester; Cecil Grant, 17, of Hartford; and Devon Kempson, 24, of Hartford.
Detectives Luis Ruiz, Dan Mui and Tony Pia found Santana at his home, along with some of the stolen jewelry, more stolen jewelry and a Remington rifle, police said. He was charged with first-degree conspiracy to commit robbery.
At 6 p.m., Hartford Police Patrol Officers Rob Fogg and Clide Patino saw Grant in his vehicle near Albany Avenue and Main Street and stopped the car. Police secured him and took him into custody. Some of the jewelry was also located inside this vehicle, police said. He was charged with first-degree conspiracy to commit robbery.
Members of the Southeast Conditions Unit located Kempson and his vehicle hidden in the parking lot of 1213 Main St., police said. He was charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree conspiracy to commit robbery, criminal use of a firearm and carrying a pistol without a permit.
