Suspect Charged After Discharge of Gun in Windham

Police said they have been searching for a suspect after report of gunshots.

A Norwich man is accused of firing off a gun during an argument in Windham Tuesday.

State police said they responded to the Windham Heights area of Windham around 8 a.m. to investigate a reported shooting. Through investigation, police determined that a gun was fired, but no one was hurt.

As law enforcement officers searched for a suspect Windham Schools were placed on lockdown as a precaution. 

Police later located the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Brandon Michael Jones, in New London.

Jones was arrested and charged with first-degree threatening, illegal discharge of a firearm, second-degree breach of peace, criminal possession of a firearm and first-degree reckless endangerment. He was held on a $200,000 bond and is due in court Wednesday.
