The Red Sox are on a road trip and they will be in Connecticut on Wednesday.
Red Sox players Ryan Lavarnway, who attended Yale, along with Pedro Ciriaco, Andrew Bailey and Craig Breslow, a Trumbull native graduated from Yale in 2002, will be here. So will Wally the Green Monster and some front office staff.
They will make a “100 Act of Kindness” visit to Yale New-Haven Medical Center as well as spontaneous drop-ins at offices, stores, restaurants and public spots.
One of those “spontaneous” spots appears to be Pepe’s in New Haven.
“In a few hours, a few members of the Boston Red Sox will be hanging out at Frank Pepe's of New Haven along with Red Sox mascot Wally! We are expecting them around 12,“ Pepe’s posted on Facebook.
Wally is Tweeting about the trip.
“In CT on #SoxRoadTrip2 on this cold winter morning. Hey Yale! I'm here for my honorary degree!” the Wally Twitter account Tweeted.
You can request a drop-in visit by sending tweets that include the hashtag #SoxRoadTrip2 to @redsox or commenting on Road Trip posts on facebook.com/redsox. Visit redsox.com/holidays for further details.
