Shoplifters Loaded the Carts and Returned for More: Cops

Four flat screen TVs, two WII games and several WII accessories sound a little like lines from a modern version of the old classic, “the 12 Days of Christmas,” but those are the items police say two women brazenly stole from Target.

Shatavia Rowe and Lawanne Harris are accused of strolling out of a South Windsor Target on Wednesday with shopping carts filled with loot, then going back in and stealing again.

Police say Rowe, 22, of Bloomfield, and Harris, 23, of Hartford, loaded some of those items into two plastic bins each, which were also stolen.

Then, cops said, they placed two large Target plastic shopping bags loaded with miscellaneous items on top of the bins and pushed the carts out of the store. The total value of the alleged take: $2,286.39.

Police were called at 3 p.m. and arrested the duo, who were charged with third-degree larceny and released on a $5,000 surety bond. They are due in Manchester Superior Court on Dec. 17.
