Three people who recently traveled to China are in voluntary isolation in New Haven as city health officials monitor them for any signs of coronavirus.

Three people in New Haven are being voluntarily monitored after returning from China amid concerns about coronavirus.

The new coronavirus -- “COVID-19” -- was first detected in Wuhan City in China and has now been detected in 37 locations internationally, including cases in the United States.

City officials said the three people do not have any symptoms and are being monitored until March 6. The process follows CDC guidelines for travelers arriving from China.

Those without symptoms are asked to monitor their health for 14 days. The CDC recommends those individuals stay home and limit interactions with others as much as possible, and to follow up with state or local health officials.
