UConn firefighters rescued eight ducklings from an underground storm drain on Sunday.

When firefighters arrived, they said a distraught mother duck and two of her young were frantically calling for the eight other ducklings who went for a swim in the nearby storm drain.
UConn Fire set up a ladder and a firefighter entered down the drain to rescue the ducklings.
The firefighter rescued six of the ducklings leaving two more "stubborn" ducklings swimming south in the drain tubing. A short time after, crews retreived the other ducklings with the help of some Rice Krispies.
All ducklings have been reunited with their mother and are swimming happily along Swan Lake.
