Police in southeastern Connecticut are warning movie-goers to keep their valuables close after multiple victims reported their wallets stolen while they were seated at local movie theaters.
East Lyme police and Stonington police are investigating incidents on Sept. 16 and Sept. 18, respectively. Police said the thefts occurred while the victims were sitting in the theaters. The victims’ debit/credit cards were used at multiple places shortly after the thefts.
The East Lyme incident took place at Niantic Cinema. The victim told police she saw a man sit behind her and leave a short time later. She could not give a clear description of the man.
Police said the purse was left on the floor.

Police warn anyone visiting the theaters to keep an eye on their valuables.
