State police have arrested a 23-year-old woman in connection with a fatal May 2017 accident on the Wilbur Cross Parkway in Orange.
Taylor Stanford was arrested on Friday and charged with second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle under the influence and reckless driving.
Stanford was driving at a high rate of speed on Route 15 South near exit 57 when she veered left, hit a curb, lost control of her car and struck another car being driven by 44-year-old Michael Zawadski, according to state police.
Zawadski was thrown from his vehicle as it rolled over and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Stanford was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.
After a blood test, it was determined that Stanford had a blood alcohol content of .16, which is twice the legal limit, according to state police. She also had traces of cannabinoids in her blood, police said.
Stanford was released on $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 16.
