    NEWSLETTERS

President Donald Trump spoke at a rally in West Virginia Thursday night as The Wall Street Journal reported Special Counsel Robert Mueller has impaneled grand jury as part of the investigation into possible collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign. Grand juries are used to subpoena witnesses and records and to present evidence, and do not suggest any criminal charges are near or will necessarily be sought, The Associated Press reported. White House counselor Kellyanne Conway says President Donald Trump is "not discussing" firing Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

Speaking on ABC's "This Week," Conway says the White House has made clear it will cooperate with Mueller's investigation into possible coordination between the Trump campaign and Russia.

The Associated Press reported last week that Mueller was now using a grand jury in Washington as part of that probe.

Conway says Trump believes the Russia investigation is a "complete false and fabricated lie." But she says the president "has not even discussed" nor is "discussing" firing Mueller.

The White House continues its feud with Rep. Frederica Wilson for the third day, with White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders doubling down on Chief of Staff John F. Kelly's "empty barrel" critique during a Friday press conference. President Donald Trump, meanwhile, slammed Wilson in a late night tweet on Thursday, calling her "wacky."

Senators introduced bipartisan bills last week creating judicial review procedures that could shield Mueller from firing by Trump.
