An assistant to Kid Rock was killed in an ATV crash at the singer's Nashville property, police said.
Michael Sacha, a 30-year-old personal assistant to the singer, died in the crash at Kid Rock's property on Knight Drive, Metro Nashville police said in a tweet Monday night.
NBC affiliate WSMV reported that police called to the property at 11:30 a.m. found Sacha's body on an embankment. He was missing for about 12 hours, after driving two people from a cookout at the property to meet an Uber car.
Kid Rock, whose given name is Robert Ritchie, started looking for Sacha Monday morning, when the assistant was determined to be missing, according to WSMV. The singer and a friend found Sacha and immediately called for help.
Police called the death accidental in the department's tweet.
Kid Rock said in a statement released Monday night that he was "beyond devastated" to report the death of Sacha.
"Myself, the band, our family, friends and co-workers are devastated over this loss. We were supposed to be back in Michigan today, but I am going to stay here with Mike until I can bring him home to his family," the singer said.
