McQueary: I Told Paterno What I Saw

Mike McQueary, the Penn State assistant football coach who witnessed Jerry Sandusky allegedly attacking a boy in the team's locker room, testified in court this morning about the 2002 incident. McQueary said Sandusky was with a boy who looked to be between 10 and 12 years old, and "it was very clear that it looked like there was intercourse going on." McQueary said he reported what he saw to legendary Head Coach Joe Paterno, but avoided using graphic terms like sodomy or anal intercourse "out of respect." Paterno appeared shocked and saddened and slumped back in his chair, McQueary said. The testimony came at a hearing for Gary Schultz and Tim Curley, who were both arrested last month for allegedly lying to a grand jury. A grand jury report says McQueary alerted both men to a sex assault involving Sandusky. Prosecutors say they failed to report the alleged abuse to authorities and then lied to the grand jury.
