UConn women's head basketball coach Geno Auriemma is scheduled to undergo surgery on Wednesday, according to the university.
The procedure is to help alleviate symptoms caused by diverticulitis, the school said.
He is expected to be in the hospital for a short time and the recovery is expected to be quick.
UConn said it would release more information about Auriemma at a later time.
