Water Back On After Main Break in Hartford

Water service has been restored in Hartford hours after a water main broke at the corner of Farmington and Sisson avenues, according to the Metropolitan District Commission.

The break, which happened just before 1 a.m. Tuesday, affected about seven businesses and two multi-unit apartment buildings between the intersection, along with the Burger King on Farmington Avenue.

MDC said water was restored around 4 p.m. Utility work and road resurfacing are ongoing. The road bed in the area is concrete rather than asphalt, which has slowed down repairs.

Farmington Avenue has been down to one lane in the area as MDC crews work to repair the main.
