Three people were injured when a manhole cover shattered the windshield of a CT Transit bus in Meriden Wednesday.
According to police, the bus was driving on Cook Avenue near West Main Street when it hit a manhole cover that was not properly fitted and the cover flipped up, striking the windshield.
Three people were transported to the hospital for minor injuries, police said.
After the bus was moved, a public works crew patched up the road and the manhole cover.
