An 11 year old girl was killed on Saturday when she was struck by a car while riding a bicycle
The girl was riding her bike on Flatbush Avenue in Hartford at around 4:20 p.m. when the accident occurred.
She was transported to Connecticut Children's Medical Center where she was pronounced dead at 7:30 p.m., according to police.
Police say the woman who struck the young girl remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities.
The victim's full name has not been released but an officer at the Hartford PD said her last name is Ortiz.
Police are not releasing any further information at this time.
