Police in New Haven say a man was found shot outside the Poor John's Pub on Middletown Avenue early this morning, suffering gunshot wounds to the head, back and facial area.
Police arrived on scene and found Albert C. Jenkins of Howard Ave in New Haven who, according to Police, is a convicted felon who is on parole and is also wanted by the New Haven Police Department on outstanding warrants charges stemming the sale of narcotics.
Jenkins was rushed to Yale New Haven Hospital.
He was placed under police guard and will be taken into custody as his condition improves, police say.
Jenkins is currently listed in critical condition, according to Officer Joe Avery with the New Haven Police Department.
New Haven Police Major Crimes Unit are continuing their investigation into the shooting and are asking anyone with information to contact the New haven Police Department at 203-946-6231.
