New Haven Knights of Columbus Prints Programs for Pope Francis' Philadelphia Visit

When the Pope addresses the faithful next Sunday at a mass in Philadelphia, the attendees will be holding programs made in New Haven.

The 350,000 programs the Knights of Columbus is printing at a downtown plant will be used during the mass that marks Pope Francis' first visit to the United States.

The Knights of Columbus is donating the materials for the programs and labor to put them together, worth around $100,000.

Officials from the Catholic brotherhood organization said they're making the donation as a sign of solidarity with the Pope.

It will take about eight days to print the 24-page programs, which include prayers, songs and readings in five languages.

The Knights of Columbus is also printing cards for the Pope's visit to Washington.
