Officers Found Tire Theft Suspects in Stolen Van: Branford Police

Branford police arrested two men accused of stealing tires and rims at a local car dealership.

Police said they responded around 12:30 a.m. Sunday to the Brandfon Car Dealership on West Main Street after a report of a suspicious van. When officers arrived they found two suspects, identified as Jose Pinto, 39, of New Haven, and David Roldan, 41, of Branford, in a van on Jefferson Road.

Police said the van was previously reported stolen from Bridgeport. Officers also reported finding three tire and rim assemblies and various hand tools and flashlights in the van.

Pinto was arrested and charged with larceny, criminal mischief, criminal trover, possession of burglary tools, and misuse of marker plates.

Roldan was charged with conspiracy to commit larceny, larceny, criminal mischief, and possession of burglary tools.

Both men were held on $10,000 and scheduled to be arraigned Monday.
