Plymouth School Officials, Police Investigate Threatening Document

Police and school officials in Plymouth are investigating after a middle school student made threatening comments in a computer document, according to a statement sent to parents.

Superintendent Martin Semmel confirms that the administration began an investigation into the incident, which occurred at the Eli Terry Jr. Middle School, on Friday and that a notification went home to parents that same evening.

The notification, forwarded to NBC Connecticut by a parent, states that the student made comments that may have “compromised the feeling of safety” in the school, and that the technology department has removed the document from student view.

The administration is working with the Plymouth police department to fully investigate the situation, according to Semmel.

Specific details on what the document said are not available. Parents should contact Assistant Principal Mark Hedrick or Principal Angela Suffridge with questions.
