Two Charged in New London Stabbing

Two people are facing charges after a 59-year-old man was stabbed in the face and hand and bitten by a dog at a New London apartment Friday night.

The victim told police he was drinking in an acquaintance’s apartment at 29 Golden Street when he was assaulted by two other guests and their dog. It happened around 10 p.m. Dec. 20.

Those people were identified as William "Willie" Thomas, 59, and Sandra Dopp, 51, both of New London. Thomas is accused of stabbing the victim, who was taken to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Thompson is charged with second-degree assault and carrying a dangerous weapon. He’s being held on a $75,000 bond.

Dopp is charged with carrying a dangerous weapon and was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond.
