Bodies Found in New Canaan Home Identified

One victim died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.

Police have identified the victims of a murder-suicide in New Canaan.

Officers received a report of gunshots on Park Street near Maple Street around 2:40 p.m. Friday.

Police found 48-year-old James Owen and his wife, 52-year-old Billie Faigout-Owen dead inside the home.

James Owens shot his wife before turning the gun on himself, according to police.

Police have not released any information regarding a motive.

The case is still under investigation.
