A West Haven man is dead after a motorcycle crash in Shelton on Thursday night.

Bruce Tischer, 43, of West Haven, was driving a motorcycle and collided with a pickup at Leavenworth Road and Walnut Tree Hill Road just before 10:15 p.m. on Thursday, police said.

Police received several 911 calls, responded and EMS took Tischer to Bridgeport Hospital and he was later pronounced dead.

The pickup driver did not complain of injuries, police said.

The road was closed for several hours as police from the traffic divisions in Shelton and Trumbull investigated.

Police believe Tischer was traveling east on Leavenworth Road and the pickup driver was traveling west on Leavenworth Road, and turning left onto Walnut Tree Hill Road when the crash occurred.

Shelton police are still investigating.

Tischer is at least the second motorcyclist killed during a week of unseasonable warm weather in Connecticut.

Troy DiClemente, 24, of South Glastonbury, was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash in Mansfield on Wednesday afternoon. He was the general manager of Tango, a Glastonbury restaurant, the Hartford Courant reports.
